Part 1 – photos of my baby album
Baby Scrapbooking Layouts – I have 9 original photos of layouts from my 1st son's baby album. I've had this project in a “to do” drawer for a LONG time. I collected the supplies and the album soon after he was born and 6 years later I am finally working on finishing it. Yeah! And I'm going to show you what I've been up to.
Part 2 of this album!

I am actually using a mixed media
pack from Colorbok called Romance Pack #36220. The colors are very soft
and overall don't look “romancy” to me. I like that it looks “baby” but
isn't too much. After a few pages of working on this album, I realized
that I had too many pattern papers going on...there was too much variety
and not enough to tie all the pages together. So, I decided to use the fleur de lis motif on all of the pages and at least one greyish green pattern paper on each layout. So look carefully and you'll see the fleur de lis motifs.
I also used my corner rounder on all the pages to soften the feel. I
started with the harlequin background paper. Then I added the matted
photo. I used my InkXpressions Tinted Embossing Ink stamp pad around the
edges of the photo mat and then dabbed on some blue chalk with a cotton
ball. You'll also see that I added the fleur de lis motif behind
the photo on the bottom right corner and some of the greenish gray
color with the sticker behind the photo on the upper left. Next, I added
the strip of polka dot paper under the photo and layered the white ric
rac and attached both with staples. I used my Archival Brilliance
pigment ink pad in Moonlight White to make the chipboard “N” white and
then glued on the baby accents.

The background paper for this layout is what inspired the fleur de lis motif. You can see it along the bottom of the paper. I used some of the scraps to cut out the motif and add them to the pages. I first started with a mini white paper bag – I love using this technique for holding small keepsakes that I don't necessarily want to display on the page itself. This bag has an ultrasound photo and some notes from my Mom. I added the little ribbon tag with my fastenator staples. I've found that I don't need the Fastenator machine. I can apply them anywhere and just bend the prongs back. : ) Next, I matted the photo of my husband dressed in C-section garb right before going back to the OR. Then I added the strip of blue ribbon to the bottom and attached it with staples as well. Finally, I glued on the little footprint.

I'm reserving this page for hand written journaling. It'll get done eventually.

And here is the baby with Daddy! : ) This layout is on a plain blue background paper. I matted the photo in the greyish green polka dot paper and then added the fleur de lis motif tag. Are you seeing some elements tying things together here? Finally, I added the ribbon across the bottom attached with staples and the little baby charm.

Ahh! Here is started realizing I was going to run out of background papers so I started using the scraps. I just used half of a sheet of plain blue paper behind a sheet of vellum to create the background. I attached the little polka dot piece and the fleur de lis motif to the photo with staples and then added the metal charm.

I used the vellum theme on this page as well but I turned it vertically. I matted the photo but just on the left side. Once again, I added the ric rac along the bottom and attached it with staples as well. And, don't forget the fleur de lis motif and the metal charm.

I used the same harlequin pattern paper as the first page. Next I punched out a frame from the paper pack and added it on top of the photo. I used my corner rounder on the name tag and added the metal charm.
Baby Scrapbooking Layouts 8
On this page I used a plain background paper and a half sheet of vellum on the bottom. Then I placed the photo and the fleur de lis behind it and attached the ric rac with staples. Finally I added the charm and stamped the title. The stamps are from pennyblackinc.com and the charms are Making Memories.
